Its commercial was similar to Nicole’s iconic AMC cinema ad, which airs just before audiences watch a movie in the theater chain. “Wow, Apple. Best Picture,” he said at the start of the clip. “I was in two Best Picture nominees last year.” Later, the Hollywood hunk was seen scrolling through the latest hits from Apple TV+, including Jennifer Lawrencethe 2022 movie, Pavement. Timothée also gasped when he saw Selena Gomezthe documentary Selena Gomez: my mind and me flash on his tablet.
After watching the two stars’ latest projects on Apple’s streaming platform, the 27-year-old wondered, “Why don’t I have a documentary?” When Timothy spotted a Ted Lasso billboard during his morning cup of coffee, he then said, “I could do TV” after reading that the series is currently “the best comedy on TV”. Later in the commercial, Timmy gets a phone call from the actor Jason Momoa in which he shared that he “just finished” his latest Apple TV+ series, War chief. When Timmy asks, “Wait, you got a new Apple show?” Jason replied, “At this point, who doesn’t?”
The hilarious satirical commercial airs Nicole’s AMC commercial where she sits in an empty movie theater to rave about the experience of going to the movies. At the start of Timmy’s commercial, he sits in an empty theater with a friend to watch a few blockbuster movies roll across the screen, all of which include Apple TV+ originals. Since Timmy shared the ad on his Instagram on Friday, many of his 18.2 million followers have responded to the comments to react to his performance. “This is my new nicole kidman,” wrote one fan, while another replied, “Apple TV’s own Nicole Kidman.” Finally, a third fan couldn’t help but denounce the irony of the ad given that Timothee has starred in many award-winning films over the years. “Timmy doubts himself like he doesn’t have one of the best filmographies,” they wrote.
Earlier that day, the lady bird The star also shared a snapshot of himself holding an Apple TV+ remote to hint at the upcoming commercial. At the very end of the commercial, Timmy let out a big sigh and said, “Hey Apple? Call me?” Even his famous pal, Kiernan Shipka, 23, couldn’t help but rave over her ad and commented “omg.” With the Mad Men Comment from alum, Selena herself reacted and wrote “lol” on the post.
Although Timothée requested a call from Apple TV+, the New York native is reserved and busy! Later in 2023, he is expected to star in Paul Kingthe film, Wonkain a modern interpretation of the classic, Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. Some of his other recent projects include Bones and All, Dune, Little Women, Beautiful Boy, The King, and more. Timmy was even nominated for an Oscar in 2018 for his performance in the movie call me by your namein which he co-starred alongside Armie Hammer.
