If you’re one of the few customers still using an old Sprint SIM card even after T-Mobile acquired the company in 2020, you won’t have much time before you need to take action and get a T SIM card. -Mobile.
According The T-Mo report, a legal notice, is sent to customers who are still using Sprint SIM cards. This notice warns customers that their current SIM card is approaching “end of life” and that they should immediately upgrade to a T-Mobile SIM card.
On February 1, customers affected by this issue received a text message and email. On March 31, a second reminder will be sent to remind customers. Then finally, on April 3, a third notice will be sent to those who have not yet made the change.
T-Mobile acquired Sprint in April 2020 and since then the company has been working to bring Sprint customers to T-Mobile. However, it worked with varying degrees of success.
Administratively, T-Mobile has already started charging Sprint customers for their services and recently began removing Sprint equipment from its stores. That means Sprint customers who haven’t yet switched to T-Mobile’s billing system won’t be able to get help at most stores.
So the writing is pretty much all over the wall now. If you’re still using a Sprint SIM card, it would behoove you to hurry up and switch to a T-Mobile card by May 1, or you might be permanently disconnected.
