The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim action-RPG fans are going online to talk about their favorite cities in the game and what they love so much about them.
A fan of Bethesda’s action-RPG The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim opened up discussion on an online forum about what members of the gaming community consider the best big city and why. With several cities populated in Skyrim which players can visit and explore, the debate has many fans of the title sharing reasons and personal experiences, making it an interesting discussion to participate in online.
But Skyrim is already more than ten years old, it seems that the community’s love for action-RPGs has not faded over time. So far, players continue to make fun and interesting in-game discoveries while playing as Skyrimis the Dragonborn. Some like to give the rest of the community new ways to experience the title through fun edits. Other fans also enjoy participating in online forums where they can discuss their favorite aspects of the video game, such as its many locations, character lineup, and more.
On Reddit, user kingbob123456 started a thread asking his colleague Skyrim fans what is their favorite big city in the game. The Redditor completed the post with a collage of the different cities found in Skyrim. Fans will probably remember that there are nine major cities in Skyrim: Dawnstar, Falkreath, Markarth, Morthal, Riften, Solitude, Whiterun, Windhelm and Winterhold. At the time of writing, the Reddit thread has over 600 comments, apparently indicating that the community is actively participating and appreciating the topic kingbob123456 has raised.
Many fans shared that their favorite city in the game would always be Whiterun. Since it is the first major city to Skyrim players will cross over when they start the base game, it’s no surprise that there are deep, nostalgic feelings for the location. Other comments indicate that players have a mix of favorites between other cities such as Solitude, Riften, Dawnstar or Falkreath. This is due to location, environment or city amenities. Additionally, many commenters shared that having children in Skyrim is also a factor that determines which city they would prefer to live in in the video game.
It is interesting to see how Skyrim continues to be highly regarded by its community. It’s not every day that an eleven-year-old video game still has a very active player base that opens up discussions about its cities as if they were real-life locations. Hopefully the fanbase’s love of action-RPGs will keep the community engaged well into the future.
The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim: Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
