Season 3 of “Ted Lasso” officially has a premiere date on Apple TV+. The streaming service has announced that the popular sports comedy will return on March 15. New episodes will be released every week after the premiere.
The third season of the Emmy-winning series will consist of 12 episodes, with the finale airing May 31. Apple TV+ has also released the first trailer for the upcoming season.
Regarding what is expected for the third season, Apple explains that “newly promoted AFC Richmond are being derided as media predictions widely see them as the last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed) , now hailed as the ‘wunderkind’, left to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United.Following Nate’s controversial departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) becomes assistant coach alongside Beard (Brendan Hunter).
Meanwhile, as Ted deals with the pressures at work, he continues to struggle with his own personal issues at home. Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) focuses on defeating Rupert, and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates as the boss of her own PR agency.
The second season of “Ted Lasso” broke records by becoming the most Emmy-winning comedy for the second year in a row with four wins overall, including Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Series Comedy (Jason Sudeikis), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Brett Goldstein) and Outstanding Director for a Comedy Series (MJ Delaney).
