Want to know more about the Warzone 2 map? The newest DZ for Battle Royale game is Al Mazrah. Set in the fictional country of the Republic of Adal, the Al Mazrah metropolitan area plays a huge role in Warzone 2, setting the stage for you and your team to dominate the competition.
We know developers want to unify the Call of Duty experience. This means that all story beats and engine upgrades in Modern Warfare 2 also apply to Battle Royale gameplay. Huge improvements have been made to vehicles, AI, and water in Warzone 2, all of which affect the flow of free PC play, with new strategies emerging as players get used to the new systems.
Warzone 2 Map Size
Stephanie Snowden, Director of Communications at Infinity Ward, said during the Call of Duty: Next event, “It’s [Al Mazrah] makes it the biggest BR card we’ve ever made.” To utilize the extra space, the circle collapse mechanic has been changed, dividing the safe zones into three zones instead of one large circle. As the match progresses, the circles narrow and slowly converge into a single safe zone. This change encourages prior skirmishes, with teams having no choice but to close in on their opponents.
New features of Al Mazrah
Players now have to search for potential enemies lurking in the water thanks to new engine improvements. Unlike Caldera and Verdansk, Al Mazrah features many rivers to support boats and underwater combat mechanics. Players who end up in the water only have access to their pistols and melee weapons, but that might be enough to kill an unsuspecting enemy. If you’re the recipient and get killed, the Warzone 2 Gulag also has some fancy new changes.
Several areas of the map have been taken over by AI fighters, similar to the Warzone Pacific event involving Chemical Research Labs. These areas are called Fortresses and they are filled with enemies ready to defend their territory. To be clear, these enemies will not interact with you unless you engage with them. If you decide to take over a fortress, be prepared to face waves of AI opponents. These locked locations contain powerful loot, including an item that allows you to purchase custom gunsmith weapons for free.
