Players who end up in the water only have access to their pistols and melee weapons, but that might be enough to kill an unsuspecting enemy. If you’re the recipient and get killed, the Warzone 2 Gulag also has some fancy new changes.
Several areas of the map have been taken over by AI fighters, similar to the Warzone Pacific event involving Chemical Research Labs. These areas are called Fortresses and they are filled with enemies ready to defend their territory. To be clear, these enemies will not interact with you unless you engage with them. If you decide to take over a fortress, be prepared to face waves of AI opponents. These locked locations contain powerful loot, including an item that allows you to purchase custom gunsmith weapons for free.
