Dr. Bohl strongly recommends performing stretches and balances. He explains, “One of the keys to feeling young is doing what you can to make sure your body is able to move the way it always has. As you get older, your joints can get stiffer, and they can also become harder.” to keep his balance.”
A helpful way to avoid this is to include static stretching and balance exercises every day, which will help you stay flexible. An easy way to maintain flexibility is to stand on one foot several times a day. Pilates and yoga are also very beneficial forms of exercise. Physical activity is key to staying in shape, and cardio really is gold. Dr. Bohl points out: “Cardio strengthens the heart and improves blood circulation and oxygen delivery throughout the body. Cardio is also a fun component to spread throughout your week. Whether you like to walk around your neighborhood, hit the treadmill while listening to a great podcast, or swim a few lengths, you can spend time alone or with a friend while nourishing your heart and your overall health.
Strength training is an important part of your exercise program because you lose lean muscle mass as you age. It doesn’t just impact your appearance; Muscle loss can negatively affect many things as you age, including the ability to perform daily tasks and ultimately live independently.
“Strength training (combined with getting enough protein daily) can help slow and prevent the loss of lean muscle mass, so you’ll feel able to do the same things you could do 10 years ago. years,” says Dr. Bohl.

“Having something to look forward to and trying new things is also a great way to keep feeling young, and there are many types of fruits and vegetables in the world,” says Dr. Bohl. “Combine these things together for a youthful habit: Each week, choose a new fruit or vegetable to try that you’ve never had before. One of the downsides of aging is the extra time your body takes to process alcohol. Having a few drinks can result in a less than great morning.

Sleeping soundly is essential to feeling your best. Dr. Bohl tells us, “Sleep is when the body recovers and processes memories, and getting enough sleep each night is the best way to avoid fatigue the next day.” You should sleep seven to eight hours a night.

A good habit is to maintain an effective skincare ritual upon waking and before going into sleep mode. In the morning, it is crucial to cleanse and moisturize your skin. “One thing people do a lot when they’re younger is learn, whether it’s in school, learning to do a new job or learning a new skill. There’s no reason for that to go away. with age.” says Dr. Bohl.
