Goody Tru is a new line of hair accessories from Goody that is in collaboration with three multicultural female artists: Hola Lu, a visual artist based in Mexico City; Let It Happen, a Netherlands-based dance trio of sisters, and Reyna Noriega, an Afro-Caribbean visual artist based in Miami.
After spending a few sunny days in Miami with Noriega, it’s clear how much the city inspires her art – and that inspiration has crept into her Goody Tru line. “We were intentional about it from start to finish, accessibility, usability, quality, it was very nice to do a collaboration where I had a say,” Noriega said. “I’m just grateful that I was able to translate my art in this way.”
Each artist’s Goody Tru collection includes hairbrushes, claw clips, headbands, barrettes, scrunchies, hair ties and other hairpieces to choose from. Each hair accessory is imbued with personality and stays far, far away from the realm of kitsch.
Below, I’ve picked out my ten favorites that I think will appeal to even the most hair accessory-averse among us (speaking from experience!). Available exclusively at Walmart for now, each accessory is under $10. Keep reading to see the best of the new Goody Tru collection.
