Facebook today announced that it is introducing more comment moderation tools and controls to make it easier for creators to manage conversations on the social network. Creators will now be able to search for comments by keywords, including emoticons, commenter names and dates, on their posts and perform bulk actions, such as liking or hiding. These new tools will be available through the Comments Manager section of Facebook’s Business Dashboard. Facebook says it’s announcing the feature today to mark Safer Internet Day.
The Meta-owned social media network also deploys moderation statistics in its moderation assistant’s activity log. For context, Moderation Assist proactively moderates new comments on creator posts using criteria they set up in advance. With this new addition, creators will be able to see stats on certain things, like the number of hidden comments in the last 30 days.
Creators can now also see which criteria are met to hide comments with the inline comment preview and criteria tag in the Moderation Assist activity log.
“Creating tools that help keep creators and their communities safe is critical to the efforts of Facebook creators, and we’ve continued to invest here,” said Bobby Marshall, head of creator safety programs at Facebook. , in a press release. “We recently expanded Moderation Assist and last year introduced a Creator Support Center. Today’s updates make it much easier for creators to search for comments – by keyword, date, emoji and more again – and perform bulk actions around them, like liking or hiding them. Our goal with these tools is to give creators time back to do what they do best: create content and grow their community. . »
Meta says the rollout is part of its efforts to support creators and ensure they can safely interact with their communities. Last year, the company expanded access to its live chat agent support to eligible creators and rolled out moderation features in professional mode. Meta says it is focused on providing creators with more comment moderation tools and controls.
